…and now, 3 years later, we all know that the Silent Hill “HD” “Collection” was the most embarrassing, disappointing and horrible game release ever done with the text “HD Remaster” stamped on the cover.
Graphics were downgraded, audio all around messed up, the new VA are horrible (shut up, they are!), plus the performance & stability of these ports left a lot to be desired. Even original creators, such as Masahiro Ito, hated these versions!

All this stuff about the writer of this article “seeing new details” and such was most probably all because it was his first time playing the games on something else than PS2 with component cables. If you want to see REAL HD graphics and none of the screw-ups of these “HD” ports, play the original PC ports of SH2-4!

This website says that there will not be an option to switch to be original voices and silent hill 3. They sayits dueto technical in logical reasons.

I really want to get to hear these new SH3 voices. Or at least get a couple names for the actors (specifically new Heather).

Oh well, guess I just have to wait another month and 22 days. Ugh…

I loved your preview, awesome stuff.
My question is how were the cg cutscenes handled in widescreen 16:9, did they zoom in and crop? Or did they leave them in 4:3 and add black bars on the sides?

Really great previews to the games. I look forward to seeing the new textures when I get these in January. I cannot wait for them to be released now. I love how you went into detail in this preview as well.

I am glad that the option to have the original cast for Silent Hill 2 will be available. I am not a fan of Silent Hill 3 so I don’t really care about that game in the collection but I will miss Heather’s original voice and Douglas.

I think this is gonna be so awesome, The only thing I don’t liked was that they don’t placed a HD version of the first silent hill, knowing that is the best in the whole saga. Still do not want to wait any longer, hopefully soon to enjoy HD SH 2 and 3, and enjoy even more the new SH Downpowr
