The Umbrella and Darkside chronicles are the best ( and only ) railshooter I ever had and they brought me ( together with Zero ) the best nostalgia feelings ever!

I haven’t played all the RE games but I know the story and love it so much, so the idea of playing the “final chapter”. which was RE5 at the time, was really exciting. They were predectible moments that spoiled us hanks to Capcom marketing but never the less they were well done. I still remember how amazing the scene were Chris looked shocked when he finally meet his long lost partner during the first Wesker fight.

I only was disappointed by some moments or character writing that felt wasn’t good enough, Wesker takes the spotlight. He’s scenes were a bit short and I don’t, I think his motivation for all that he was doing needed a bit more proper writing.

Its like Jake Muller, the concept of this character was good but they didn’t handled it well. Its like they put him in RE6 just to have that predectible, typical moment were you knew it will happen sooner or later, were he point his gun to Chris because he killed his “father”, a “father” who he never knew or felt any compassion for to begin with??!! Oh please!

You must have missed all of my rants against RE6 and RER, haha.

I didn’t like some things about RE5, like the partner AI, but I enjoyed most of it. I liked most of the bosses, the lickers felt threatening, and even the boulder-punching-“complete global saturation” bits were entertaining. The updated versions of RE4 and RE:CV were fun to play through and looked nice enough. I enjoyed several sections of RE6, specially playing with a friend through Leon’s campaign. Actually, the ‘only’ parts I truly hated from that game were the ones where you were getting shot from all directions (so a big chunk of the game, yeah).

The DLC campaign was really good. I loved that last boss fight.

This is a Resident Evil column. Being the end of a console generation, it’s the perfect time to look back at what the series had to offer on the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Wouldn’t make sense to write about something other than Resident Evil in a Resident Evil column.

We used to fanboy over Silent Hill as well, but not sure what happened to that front. I know nothing about either franchise, though :3.

I’ll be doing some indie stuff this month, but feel free to leave any suggestions in the comments or on our newly-opened forums!

Not just that, do these guys have anything to say about the Resident Evil series other than fanboying over how it use to have horror?
