In reply to Stephanie. That was my least favorite thing about it. Imagine a father being concerned about his missing daughter! Inconceivable (lol)! Otherwise, I consider films to be too different from video games to expect a 1:1 conversion, but I do worry about things like losing the subtlety of some parts of this one.

I'll try to keep an open mind on this, but Silent Hill 2's plot is built like a house of cards and futzing around the events, characterization and symbolism would easily turn it into an incoherent mess. Christophe Gans, despite his impressive fidelity to the visual style of the games, has also shown past form for looking at a story that worked perfectly well as is, and going "Nah, I like MY ideas better!" It doesn't seem to bode well.
